BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A tragic motorcycle crash on State Highway 70 near Fosmo Drive resulted in the death of a Webster man on Friday according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 9, 2024 at 12:20 p.m. Burnett County Dispatch received a call of a motorcycle crash on State Highway 70 near Fosmo Drive in Lafollette Township. Law enforcement, fire and ambulance personnel responded.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a group of motorcycles were traveling together eastbound on State Highway 70. One of the motorcycles had a tire blow out. The driver of that motorcycle, Stephen Stevens, 64 years old, of Webster, WI was ejected. Mr. Stevens was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The drivers of two of the other motorcycles laid their motorcycles down to avoid colliding with the first motorcycle.
One of the passengers on a motorcycle was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
This crash is still under investigation.
