Ukraine Front Could 'Collapse' As Russia Gains Accelerate, Experts Warn

President Biden’s decision to provide anti-personnel mines to Ukraine, and allow the use of long-range missiles on Russian territory comes as the Russian military is accelerating its gains along the front line.

Data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) shows that Russia has gained almost six times as much territory in 2024 as it did in 2023, and is advancing towards key Ukrainian logistical hubs in the eastern Donbas region.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's surprise incursion into Russia's Kursk region is faltering. Russian troops have pushed Kyiv's offensive backwards. Experts have questioned the success of the offensive, with one calling it a "strategic catastrophe" given manpower shortages faced by Ukraine.

Republican Lawmaker Moves To Bar Trans Colleague From Women's Bathrooms

A Republican congresswoman has introduced a bill to ban transgender women from using female bathrooms in the US Capitol, just weeks after the first-ever openly transgender lawmaker was elected to the House of Representatives.

On Tuesday, South Carolina's Nancy Mace said her resolution was "absolutely" a response to the election of Sarah McBride, who will be sworn into office in January.

Target Sounds The Alarm Bell On Holiday Shopping

Target is expecting a surprisingly weak holiday shopping season, a warning sign for the retail industry.

The company forecast Wednesday that sales during the final quarter of the year will be flat, and Target lowered its profit forecast. Target also reported a sluggish sales increase of just 0.3% during its latest quarter.

Shares of Target (TGT) plunged as much as 20% during pre-market trading Wednesday.

Comcast To Announce The Spinoff Of Cable Networks, Including MSNBC, CNBC And USA

Comcast is expected to announce a plan Wednesday to spin off its cable networks into a separate company, two people familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The split would cleave off some of NBCUniversal's best-known brands, including MSNBC, E!, Syfy, Golf Channel, USA, CNBC and Oxygen, which now face the same cord-cutting challenges as many other major cable channels.

State Settles With Pick ‘N Save, Metro Market Stores Over Sales Of Underweight Products

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced a settlement with Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. (Roundy's) resolving 1,202 alleged short weight package violations and 90 alleged package labeling violations. Under the settlement, Roundy's does not admit any violations but will pay $1,003,590.50 in civil forfeitures, surcharges, and fees.

On December 13, 2023, and from January 16 to January 18, 2024, inspectors from DATCP and municipal weights and measures programs conducted inspections in 81 of 105 stores owned and operated by Roundy's in Wisconsin. As a result of that joint effort, Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market stores operated by Roundy's were inspected in communities including Appleton, Green Bay, Kenosha, Madison, Milwaukee, Monroe, Oshkosh, Stevens Point, Waukesha, Wausau, and more.

Assembly Democrats Reelect Greta Neubauer As Minority Leader

Rep. Greta Neubauer, D-Racine, will once again lead Assembly Democrats as the party takes up a larger share of the chamber going into the next legislative session.

Neubauer was elected to serve as minority leader during a party caucus meeting Tuesday at the state Capitol.

The selection came two weeks after an election that saw Democrats take up a larger share of seats in the Legislature after new legislative maps carved out district lines less favorable to Republicans. Democrats now hold 45 of 99 seats, up from their previous 35 seats.

Former Deputy Files Federal Civil Lawsuit Against Waupaca County

New details are coming out over the fallout from Brady violations in the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department.

The now-former deputy who alerted his higher-ups to changes in an arrest report filed civil action against the county sheriff and former public officials.

It’s an Action Two News investigation we first broke and have covered extensively over the last three years.

The now-former Detective Sergeant Peter Kraeger testified in 2022 he raised concerns with an altered report.

Wisconsin Judicial Regulators File Complaint Against Gableman

Judicial regulators filed a complaint on Nov. 19 against a former conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court justice who spread election conspiracy theories and was hired by Republicans to lead an investigation into President-elect Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election, accusing him of violating multiple rules of conduct.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation 10-count complaint accuses former Justice Michael Gableman of violations which could result in a variety of sanctions, including possibly losing his law license. The complaint does not make a specific recommendation regarding what sanction the Wisconsin Supreme Court should apply.

UW Student-Athletes Concerned New Football Indoor Practice Facility Potentially Violates Title IX

Student-athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are concerned that the new football indoor training facility potentially violates Title IX.

The projects costs $285 million and is the largest capital project in UW Athletics history. It includes replacing the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center (The Shell) and the 80-yard football practice field in the McClain Center.

According to the athletic department, the facility will impact the training for the majority of Wisconsin's 23 sports and 800 student-athletes. Some of those athletes are not thrilled about these plans, and said they possibly violate the third pillar of Title IX compliance.
