Tuesday’s contests in Colorado, New York, South Carolina and Utah saw the first incumbent House Democrat to lose in a primary this cycle, along with several losses for Trump-endorsed candidates.

The progressive wing of the Democratic Party suffered a major blow when Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) lost to Westchester County Executive George Latimer, a moderate, in one of the most tumultuous primaries so far. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s near-perfect endorsement track record this cycle took a hit almost everywhere, while Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), a political lightning rod, all but ensured her survival in Congress in November.

This sector is a key part of the U.S. economy. Without access to care, parents, typically women, often can't join the labor force — at a time when the job market is still tight.

Enough Signatures Collected To Force Recall Election For Wisconsin GOP Leader, Commission Says

Supporters of former President Donald Trump submitted 16 more valid signatures than needed to force a recall election of Wisconsin’s top elected Republican depending on what district the recall should be held in, based on a review by the state elections commission released Tuesday.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission will meet Thursday to vote on whether to order a recall election targeting Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.

The Race For Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District Again Attracts National Attention

Three Democrats are duking it out in the 2024 primary race for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, where the winner will face off against incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden.

These candidates are Eau Claire small business owner Rebecca Cooke, state Rep. Katrina Shankland, D-Stevens Point and Eau Claire mortgage loan officer Eric Wilson. All three are vying for a spot on the November general election ballot, with a primary scheduled for mid-August.

Kaul Says Restrictions Won't Affect Much About Who Can Work Wisconsin's Elections

A new constitutional amendment restricting who can work on Wisconsin elections should have little practical effect, according to a legal opinion issued by Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul on June 25.

Wisconsin voters approved a constitutional amendment in April that says only lawfully designated election officials can perform any work on primaries, elections and referendums.

Oneida Nation To Hold 50th Powwow This Weekend

This weekend, an estimated 10,000 visitors will flock to the Oneida Reservation for its annual powwow.

This year is the tribe’s 50th celebration in its current form. However, the tradition dates back almost 150 years, said Michelle Danforth Anderson, Oneida Nation marketing and tourism director.

“Oneidas from Canada would come down here, and they would bring songs and dance and have some celebrations,” Danforth Anderson said. “But it wasn’t until the 1970s when they moved (the powwow) to the Norbert Hill Center. And so that is actually what we are celebrating — the 50th time that we are actually doing a live, in-person powwow at the Norbert Hill Center in Oneida, Wisconsin.”

DOJ Releases New Details About Wrong-Way Crash On I-39

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation has released new details about an officer-involved incident in Kronenwetter.

Around 7:30 p.m. on June 11, Kronenwetter Officer Mason Dallman attempted a traffic stop near Maple Ridge Road and I-39. Investigators said the vehicle did not stop, and the officer initiated a pursuit.

The vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction going southbound in the northbound off-ramp of I-39 striking a semi-trailer unit that was traveling northbound on I-39. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene.
