How Trump Policies And Project 2025 Match Up After First 100 Days

President Trump repeatedly distanced himself from Project 2025 on the campaign trail, saying he had "nothing to do with" the initiative spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation, had not read it and didn't have any plans to.

But as the president marks 100 days in the White House, many of the plans he has rolled out since the start of his second term closely align with those in the pages of Project 2025's sprawling, 900-page policy blueprint, which lays out an overhaul of the executive branch.

Trump’s Next 100 Days: Trade Deals, Foreign Policy And Reconciliation

As President Trump looks to his next 100 days in office, White House officials said his focus can be summarized in five words: Trade deals and peace deals.

Trump’s first 100 days in office saw a flood of executive action to rapidly deliver on key campaign promises around immigration and culture war issues, as well as a blitz against major agencies to slash the scope and size of government staffing and spending.

Trump is expected to take additional deregulatory actions and sign more executive actions to enforce immigration and other aspects of his agenda, officials said.

Carney Vows To Govern For All Canadians After Winning Election Upended By Trump

Mark Carney achieved what seemed like an impossible feat just a few months ago, leading the Liberals to another victory after an election that was shaped by U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war and threats of annexation.

The CBC Decision Desk is projecting a fourth Liberal term — a rarity in Canadian politics — but it's too close to tell whether it will be majority or minority government.

Carney, a central banker who only jumped into Canadian politics in January, successfully reversed his party's fortunes after polling earlier this year suggested defeat was all but guaranteed. But the race against the Conservatives is shaping up to be closer than many polls predicted.

One sailor suffered a minor injury but all others were accounted for and unharmed, despite crew having to quickly move out of the way of the stricken aircraft.

Amazon Launches Its First Internet Satellites To Compete Against SpaceX's Starlinks

Amazon's first batch of internet satellites rocketed into orbit Monday, the latest entry in the mega constellation market currently dominated by SpaceX's thousands of Starlinks.

The United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket carried up 27 of Amazon's Project Kuiper satellites, named after the frigid fringes of our solar system beyond Neptune. Once released in orbit, the satellites will eventually reach an altitude of nearly 400 miles (630 kilometers).

Founded by Jeff Bezos, who now runs his own rocket company, Blue Origin, Amazon aims to put more than 3,200 of these satellites into orbit to provide fast, affordable broadband service around the globe.

Slender Man Stabbing Case: Morgan Geyser’s Release Delayed Again

Nearly 11 years after the notorious “Slender Man” stabbing case in Waukesha, Morgan Geyser was set to be released from a mental institution. But she encountered another delay.

Geyser, 22, was in Waukesha County Circuit Court for the final step of her move from a state mental hospital to a group home in Milwaukee. However, a late development forced a delay.

The crime shocked Waukesha in 2014 as 12-year-old’s Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier stabbed their sixth-grade friend Payton Leutner nearly to death, telling police they thought the internet character Slender Man was real, and required them to kill.

A judge on April 28 ordered a former Wisconsin prison warden implicated in an inmate’s death to pay a $500 fine to resolve the case after concluding he has no criminal record and didn’t realize his guards weren’t following policy.

Wisconsin Once Allowed ‘Fusion Voting.’ A Lawsuit Aims To Bring It Back.

The progressive firm Law Forward planned to file the complaint Tuesday in Dane County Circuit Court. If the suit is successful, Wisconsin would adopt a voting system that’s currently being used in New York state and Connecticut.

There, each voter still gets one vote. But a candidate can appear on the ballot more than once, next to every political party that endorses them.

That pushes candidates to find commonalities with more than one party, and it gives minor parties other than the Republicans and Democrats more of a voice, proponents of fusion voting argue.

DNR Releases Summary Of 2024 CWD Sampling Efforts

With the conclusion of the 2024 deer hunting seasons, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) shares a summary of the year’s Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) sampling efforts.

For the 2024 season, the DNR focused its efforts on increasing sample collection in designated 2024 Fall Priority Areas.
