Biden Administration Aims To Fix "Family Glitch" In Health Care Law

The Biden administration is taking action Tuesday designed to fix what's become known as the "family glitch" in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the nation's health care law.

Under the current law, families may only obtain health insurance through the ACA's marketplace if they would be forced to spend more than about 10% of their income through their employers or other programs. But if an employee's cost is under 10% of income for individual coverage and only exceeds 10% when family members are added to the insurance plan, the family is still viewed under the law as having affordable coverage.

Trump's Supporters Are Asking Elon Musk To Reinstate The Former President's Twitter Account

Conservative figures are urging Elon Musk to allow former President Donald Trump back on Twitter following Monday's announcement that the Tesla CEO had bought a 9.2% stake in the social-media giant.

With Musk becoming Twitter's largest shareholder, requests to reinstate Trump's account — which was permanently suspended on January 9, 2021, after the Capitol insurrection — started to surface Monday evening.

McDonald's Workers Reach Settlement Deal Over Harassment

Former McDonald’s workers who alleged rampant sexual harassment at their Michigan restaurant have reached a $1.5 million settlement agreement with the restaurant’s former owner.

The American Civil Liberties Union’s Women's Rights Project, which helped represent the employees, announced the settlement deal Monday. It must still be approved by a federal judge.

Judge Refuses To Delay Trial For Man Accused Of Driving Through Wisconsin Parade, Killing 6

A Wisconsin judge has decided on a compromise in the trial date for a man accused of intentionally driving his SUV through a Christmas parade. Darrell Brooks, 40, of Milwaukee, was charged with 81 felony and two misdemeanor counts. Six people died and more than 100 others were injured last November.

Brooks appeared Monday afternoon in Waukesha County Court with his defense attorneys.

Power shut-offs for unpaid utility bills will begin again in Wisconsin starting April 15, according to utility officials.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin reminded customers in a statement Monday that those with outstanding electric, natural gas and water utility bills should make arrangements with their provider or apply for financial assistance before April 15.

As voters head to the polls Tuesday, some state and national politicians continue to push unfounded allegations of widespread election fraud. But a coalition of Wisconsin municipalities is working to restore faith in the state’s election process.

"If you don't have faith in elections, you don't have democracy," Jerry Deschane, executive director of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, said.

Last month, the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, the Wisconsin Counties Association and the Wisconsin Towns Association launched a nonpartisan ad campaign featuring municipal clerks.
