Why Kamala Harris Lost: A Flawed Candidate Or Doomed Campaign?
Nearly a month ago, Kamala Harris appeared on ABC's The View in what was expected to be a friendly interview aimed at pitching herself to Americans who wanted to know more about her.
But the sit-down was quickly overshadowed by her response to a question on what she would have done differently from incumbent president, Joe Biden: "Not a thing comes to mind."
Harris's answer - which became a Republican attack ad on loop - underscored the political headwinds that her jumpstart campaign failed to overcome in her decisive loss to Donald Trump on Tuesday.

The dust has not yet settled from the 2024 election, but the Democratic Party's blame game over their bleak showing has already begun in earnest.
Democrats across the ideological spectrum are quickly seizing on this raw moment to try to redefine the party in their image.
"Instead of saying, 'How can people vote for Donald Trump,' we should be asking 'Why do people vote for Donald Trump'... what did he do right and what did we do wrong," Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.) told Axios.

Netanyahu and Gallant have repeatedly been at odds over the war in Gaza. But Netanyahu had avoided firing his rival. Netanyahu cited "significant gaps" and a "crisis of trust" between the men in his Tuesday evening announcement.

The Federal Reserve likely will stick to the business at hand when it wraps up its meeting Thursday with another interest rate cut, but will have its eye on the future against a backdrop that suddenly has gotten a lot more complicated.
Financial markets are pricing in a near-certainty that the central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee will lower its benchmark borrowing cost by a quarter percentage point as it seeks to “recalibrate” policy for an economy that is seeing the inflation rate moderate and the labor market soften.

Baldwin Defeats Hovde In A Race Close Enough To Allow A Recount
Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin won a third term, delivering a victory for Democrats in the swing state that President-elect Donald Trump carried on Nov. 5.
Baldwin defeated Republican challenger Eric Hovde, a bank owner and real estate investor endorsed by Trump. Hovde has not conceded the race, which was within the 1-percentage point margin that would allow for him to seek a recount, based on unofficial results.

Eight years ago, Donald Trump redefined the GOP coalition in Wisconsin. This year, he rode it to a record number of votes and a second term in the White House.
This election bore little resemblance to his 2016 campaign, when Democrat Hillary Clinton seemingly took Wisconsin for granted, and never visited. Vice President Kamala Harris energized the Democratic base, campaigning here early and often, receiving more votes than President Joe Biden did in his 2020 Wisconsin victory.
Trump simply took what worked for him the first time and turned it up a notch. No longer was there any reluctance among GOP voters to embrace the former president, now the president-elect. In Wisconsin, Trump led the way.

Republicans won six congressional races in Wisconsin in the Nov. 5 election, turning back Democratic challenges in a western Wisconsin swing district and in an open seat in a heavily GOP corner of the state.
In the most hotly contested race, Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden won reelection in western Wisconsin over Democratic challenger and political activist Rebecca Cooke. A political newcomer and former gas station chain owner, Tony Wied, won an open seat in the Green Bay area, defeating a doctor who tried to make the race about abortion rights.

We learned Molson Coors announced plans to close the Leinenkugel’s brewery in Chippewa Falls, ending a more than century-and-a-half tradition of brewing in northwestern Wisconsin.
Molson Coors Chief Supply Chain Officer Brian Erhardt released a statement regarding the planned closure of the Leinenkugel’s Chippewa Falls brewery:
Following the end of a large contract brewing agreement and amid an ongoing canning line investment project at our Milwaukee brewery, we’ve made the decision to close two of our smaller brewing operations in Wisconsin and centralize statewide production at our main site in Milwaukee. While never easy, these choices are made with much thought and consideration to position Molson Coors for continued success in Wisconsin and beyond.
