Netanyahu Walks Back Proposal For Gaza Hostage-Ceasefire Deal Endorsed By Biden

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said he is interested in a "partial deal" with Hamas that will free "some of the hostages" held in Gaza and allow Israel to continue fighting in the enclave.

Netanyahu's remarks walk back an Israeli proposal for a three-phase deal that would lead to the release of all remaining 120 hostages and to "sustainable calm" in Gaza.

Federal Prosecutors Recommend To Justice Department That Boeing Be Criminally Prosecuted

Federal prosecutors have recommended to top Justice Department officials that airline manufacturer Boeing be criminally prosecuted, CBS News has learned.

While the recommendation to the Department of Justice's senior leadership is not a final decision, it is the latest development in the ongoing back-and-forth over Boeing's alleged violation of a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement. The exact nature of the newly recommended charges was not immediately clear.

Friday Supreme Court Rulings Touch On Firearms, Expert Testimony, And Interstate Contracts

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday ruled that authorities can temporarily keep people from possessing firearms if the individuals have certain types of restraining orders placed upon them.

The Court upheld a federal 1994 ban on firearms for people under restraining orders to stay away from their spouses or partners. The restraining order needs to be based on credible evidence that the individual poses a credible threat to another person, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote.

The 8-1 majority opinion was one of five the court issued on Friday.

Wisconsin Judge To Weigh Letting People With Disabilities Vote Electronically From Home In November

A Wisconsin judge on Monday is expected to consider whether to allow people with disabilities to vote electronically from home in the swing state this fall.

Disability Rights Wisconsin, the League of Women Voters and four disabled people filed a lawsuit in April demanding disabled people be allowed to cast absentee ballots electronically from home.
