Biden’s Family Encourages Him To Stay In The Race As They Discuss Whether Top Advisers Should Be Fired

Joe Biden’s family on Sunday encouraged the president to stay in the 2024 race and privately discussed whether top aides should be fired on the heels of Biden’s stunningly poor debate performance, which has thrown his campaign into turmoil.

Biden’s family, including first lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden and their grandchildren, convened at Camp David for a previously scheduled get-together and implored the president to keep fighting in his bid for reelection, Biden advisers told CNN. One adviser described the family members as having offered their “unequivocal support.”

"Historic" Hurricane Beryl Barrels Toward Caribbean Isles

Hurricane Beryl was closing in on the southeastern Caribbean early Monday after government officials pleaded with people to take shelter from the dangerous Category 3 storm.

Beryl was expected to make landfall over the Windward Islands Monday morning, then move across the southeastern and central Caribbean late Monday through Wednesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said. Hurricane warnings were in effect for Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Supreme Court Set To Rule On Trump Immunity In Election Interference Case

The Supreme Court on Monday is expected to issue its long-anticipated ruling on whether former President Donald Trump can claim immunity from prosecution for at least some of his actions in seeking to overturn the 2020 election.

Chief Justice John Roberts announced Friday that Monday would be the last day of rulings in the current nine-month court term, with the Trump case one of four yet to be decided.

The rulings will be issued one by one, starting at 10:00 a.m., with the Trump case likely to be the last.

Several US Military Bases In Europe Put On Heightened State Of Alert

Several U.S. military bases across Europe are now operating under a heightened state of alert, ABC News has confirmed.

The alert level of Force Protection Condition (FPCON) "Charlie" was put in place over the weekend, according to two U.S. officials.

According to the U.S. Army, Charlie is the second highest state of alert that "applies when an incident occurs or intelligence is received indicating some form of terrorist action or targeting against personnel or facilities is likely."

'I Knew I Would Be Back' - Biles Qualifies For Paris

Four-time Olympic champion Simone Biles said "I knew I would be back" after she qualified for the Paris Games.

American Biles, 27, secured her spot at the US Olympic trials on Sunday in Minneapolis with a two-day all-round score of 117.225.

Paris will be Biles' third Olympics after competing in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo events.

Wisconsin Payout On Hold After SCOTUS Blocks Purdue Pharma Opioid Settlement

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected a proposed settlement with OxyContin manufacturer Purdue Pharma, holding up a potential payout that could have brought tens of millions dollars to help Wisconsin fight opioid addiction.

In a close decision this week, a majority of justices objected to a provision in a bankruptcy plan which would have shielded members of the Sackler Family, who owned Purdue Pharma, from personal liability.

Under the since-scuttled deal, the Sackler family would have funded most of a proposed settlement, which could have provided $8 billion total to state and local governments.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating an officer involved shooting in the Town of Big Flats that happened Saturday afternoon.

Adams Co. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call around 3:01 p.m. for a driver who was under the influence of narcotics and armed with firearms.

Columbia County Sheriff's Office Confirms Body Was Pulled From Wisconsin River, Lake Wisconsin

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office confirms a male was found and recovered from the water Sunday afternoon.

According to deputies, they and the Sauk County Sheriff's Office Dive Teams resumed recovery efforts for the missing 63-year-old male at 8 a.m. Sunday. It came after officials responded to the report of someone going underwater on the Wisconsin River, Lake Wisconsin area Saturday afternoon.

Wisconsin Republican Lawmakers Appeal Ruling Allowing Disabled People To Obtain Ballots Electronically

Republican legislators in battleground state Wisconsin on June 28 appealed a ruling that allows disabled people to download absentee ballots at home in November’s presidential election.

Disability Rights Wisconsin the League of Women Voters and four disabled voters sued in April demanding disabled people be allowed to download absentee ballots at home and return them to local clerks via email.

DNR Sets 2024 Deer Season Framework And Harvest Goals

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) presented the deer harvest quotas and framework for the 2024 Wisconsin deer hunting season to the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board June 26, 2024.

The statewide antlerless quota for the 2024 season is 272,837 deer, with 245,245 total bonus antlerless harvest authorizations available for purchase across the state. These authorizations are in addition to the free antlerless harvest authorizations issued in farmland zones, which are not reflected in this total.
