The chances that Biden could attract a primary challenger are rising amid devastating polling numbers with Democrats and particularly young voters.

His loyalists have defended him against the increasingly negative headlines. They say he stepped into a mess made by former President Trump and that some of the lawmakers in Congress who were supposed to help him turn things around have been difficult and disappointing.

But that willingness to prop up the sinking president has been wearing thin. Day by day, Democrats are considering a possible new scenario: challenging the sitting president for the 2024 nomination.

Indiana Shopping Mall Shooter Shot Dead By Armed 'Good Samaritan,' Police Say

At least four people, including the shooter, are dead and others are injured following a shooting at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Indianapolis, according to local reports.

Greenwood Chief James Ison said "a good Samaritan with a handgun" at the scene killed the shooter. He said two others were wounded and are being treated in area hospitals.

Jury Selection Set To Begin In Contempt Trial Of Trump Ally Steve Bannon

Jury selection is set to begin Monday in the trial of former President Donald Trump's ally Steve Bannon over his defiance of a subpoena from the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Bannon, who previously served as Trump's White House chief strategist but departed in August of 2017, was first subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 committee for records and testimony in September of last year. The committee told Bannon at the time it had "reason to believe that you have information relevant to understanding activities that led to and informed the events at the Capitol on January 6, 2021."

During an hour-long debate Sunday at Marquette University, Milwaukee Bucks executive Alex Lasry, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, State Treasurer Sara Godlewski, Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson and political organizer Steven Olikara were asked about inflation, abortion, gun violence and climate change.

Green County Woman Killed In Farming Incident

A Green County woman was killed after being hit by farming equipment.

The Green County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check on the W4400 block of Fairfield Road around 1 p.m Sunday.

When deputies arrived, they found a 78-year-old woman who had been hit by a John Deer utility vehicle.

Milwaukee Gets Recommendation To Host 2024 RNC Convention

Milwaukee moved another step closer to hosting the 2024 Republican National Convention on July 15 when a site selection committee unanimously recommended the event be held there rather than Nashville, Tennessee.

The Republican National Committee would still need to approve the location at its meeting Aug. 2-5 in Chicago. Nashville could still be the winner, but that city's chances hit a roadblock earlier in July when opposition led proponents to withdraw a proposed agreement about how to host the event.

Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigation In Forest County, Wis.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating an officer involved critical incident (OICI) in the Town of Lincoln, Wis. that occurred on the night of Friday, July 15, 2022.

At approximately 9:37 p.m., a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Warden conducted a traffic stop of a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) on Keith Siding Road in the Town of Lincoln, Wis. During the traffic stop, a second UTV pulled up between the DNR squad and the first UTV. The driver of the second UTV got out and assaulted the Warden. During the assault the Warden discharged their firearm and struck the assaulting subject, who had been driving the second UTV. The subject was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Superior Police Officer Jailed After Fatal Off-Duty Drunk Driving Crash

A sergeant with the Superior Police Department was arrested early Friday after an off-duty crash that killed one man and left two other people injured. Police say the sergeant was drunken driving.

A statement from the police department says Sgt. Greg Swanson is being held in the Douglas County Jail pending a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

Swanson has been with the Superior department for 15 years. According to the statement from Superior Police Chief Nicholas Alexander, Swanson was placed on administrative leave while the investigation is underway.
