On Friday, Trump’s actual tax returns from 2015 to 2020 are set to be released, after Democrats said they needed additional time to redact the documents and remove personal information.

Tax experts aren’t expecting huge revelations from the raw returns, which were summarized in reports from both the Democratic-controlled Ways and Means Committee and the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT). But the more detailed documents could provide additional information on key areas of interest regarding Trump’s businesses and his professional associations.

Biden Signs $1.7T Government Spending Bill, Ensuring Funding For Most Of 2023

President Joe Biden Thursday signed the omnibus spending bill into law while on vacation, extending funding for the government into next year.

Biden, on vacation in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, signed the $1.7 trillion into law to avoid a government shutdown and provide funding for the federal government through September.

The legislation, which provides $773 billion for non-defense discretionary spending and $858 billion for defense spending, marks victories for both parties.

Historical analyses of abortion vary widely.

Depending on what you read, abortion in early America was commonplace, safe, legal and accepted — or it was dangerous and uncommon.

The abortion history debate was elevated this summer when the United States Supreme Court's majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization asserted "the right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and tradition." Dobbs overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark case that had guaranteed abortion rights since 1973.

While legal experts on both sides of the debate have agreed that abortion historically has not been considered a constitutional right, Justice Samuel Alito’s opinion riled up many scholars for a number of reasons — chief among them his claim of an "unbroken tradition" of criminalizing abortion.

Kolar Retiring As Vets Affairs Secretary

Gov. Tony Evers announced today that Veterans Affairs Secretary Mary Kolar will retire, effective Monday.

Kolar, a former Dane County supervisor, was among Evers’ first cabinet picks after he won election in 2018. Prior to her appointment, she worked with the Dane County Veterans Service Office and was vice president of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Kolar joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 and served on active duty for 28 years.

SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai entered the transfer portal Thursday night and is expected to land at Wisconsin, sources told ESPN.

Mordecai had 7,152 passing yards with 72 touchdowns and 22 interceptions the past two seasons for SMU, setting a team record with 13 games of 300 passing yards or more. He began his career at Oklahoma, spending three seasons as a backup before transferring to SMU.
