BURNETT COUNTY - A 38-year-old man from Minnesota was found deceased after authorities received and responded to a report of a missing swimmer in Burnett County, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 8, 2022 at approximately 6 p.m. Burnett County Dispatch was notified of a missing swimmer on Warner Lake in Lafollette Township, Burnett County.

Law Enforcement, First Responders and Firefighters responded to the scene. One of the First Responders launched his drone and found the missing swimmer approximately 10 to 15 feet from the end of a dock. Lifesaving measures were attempted. Patrick R. Theiler, 38 years old, of St. Paul, MN was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, North Ambulance, St. Croix Hertel First Responders and Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department and the Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office for their assistance. This case is still under investigation pending autopsy results.
