WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced a man on his conviction for a drug bust that occurred in Stone Lake, WI in May 2020.
DrydenWire previously published a press release from law enforcement on May 22, 2020, which stated that following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Stone Lake, WI, law enforcement arrested two people: John Phalen and Traci Cooke.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers located 55 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $5,700. Officers also located and seized a large amount of cash; marijuana; at least one firearm; and illegal pills during the search, according to the press release.
Online records show that charges of Class D Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>10-50g), Repeater; Class E Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>3-10g), Repeater; Class F Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(<=3g); Class E Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>3-10g), Party to a Crime; Class G Felony Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony, Repeater; Class I Felony Maintain Drug Trafficking Place, Repeater; and Class I Felony Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense), Repeater were filed against Phalen.
At a hearing on February 10, 2021, the Court sentenced Phalen on a conviction of Class D Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>10-50g), Repeater. The remaining charges against Phalen were read in and dismissed at a hearing in December 2020.
The Court ordered a 10-year sentence; 4 years initial confinement in state prison followed by 6 years of extended supervision. Conditions of supervision will require Phalen to maintain absolute sobriety.
Charges filed against Cooke include counts of Class E Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>3-10g) and Class H Felony Bail Jumping. She is scheduled to appear again in April 2021.
