BARRON COUNTY -- A Dunn County man is in custody following a three hour stand off with police in Barron County, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff's Department.
(Press Release) -- On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 12:03 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call from Dairy State Bank in Prairie Farm reporting a subject in the bank yelling and screaming and saying people were going to be dead.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department responded to the area. While on the phone with the bank, the subject left and was identified as James Donnerbauer, 69 from the Ridgeland area. Deputies responded to the bank, the Prairie Farm area and Mr. Donnerbauer’s residence in Dunn Co where he was located.
The subject refused to come outside and made a threat to the officers on scene that “he had them in his crosshairs”. Deputies immediately evacuated the area and a perimeter was set up. The Eau Claire Regional Swat Team was called in.
Negotiations continued with no response and beaching tools from the bearcat and gas was used to get Mr. Donnerbauer to exit the residence. He was taken into custody after about a three hour standoff.
He is currently being held in the Barron County Jail on a felony charge of Making Terrorist Threats and Disorderly Conduct.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Department would like to the thank the Eau Claire Regional SWAT Team, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Department and the Gold Cross Ambulance for assisting us in this case.
