Man Charged For Allegedly Shooting At Someone During Fight in Comstock, WI

BARRON COUNTY --  Criminal charges have been filed against a man for allegedly shooting at someone during a fight that occurred next to a trailer park in Comstock, WI.

At approximately midnight on May 22, 2021, Barron County Dispatch received a report of a fight and shots fired in Comstock, WI.

Deputies responded to the scene of the incident and spoke with a witness who stated that he had been driving his motorcycle westbound on Highway 63 a short time earlier. He met a maroon Jeep traveling eastbound, which then made a U-turn and began also traveling westbound.

The witness (identified only by initials in the criminal complaint) stopped his motorcycle near the driveway of the trailer park.

The witness went on to tell deputies that the maroon Jeep also stopped, a man got out of the Jeep, approached the witness, grabbed him, and began punching him.

The fight continued for a few minutes, according to the witness’s statement, then broke up with the witness getting back on his motorcycle. The man approached the motorcycle and pushed it over.

Another motorcycle had arrived at the scene of the fight, and the male rider, identified as Michael Jacker, got off his motorcycle, brandished a handgun, and allegedly shot in the witness’s direction.

Jacker and the driver of the maroon Jeep left the scene prior to deputies arriving, according to the criminal complaint.

Witnesses stated to law enforcement that Jacker and the others involved in the fight are members of two different motorcycle clubs, the Creeg’s Hammer Club and the Distant Knight’s Club. Earlier in the night, members of the Creeg’s Hammer Club had ridden past a residence of a Distant Knight’s Club member, and some witnesses stated they believed this may have led to the fight.

Deputies spoke with residents of the trailer park, who stated that they heard a gunshot and a spent shell casing was found at the scene.

Deputies went to Michael Jacker’s residence and spoke with him about the incident. Jacker allegedly confirmed that he had been in Comstock and parked his motorcycle in the area of the incident. The criminal complaint filed against him also states that Jacker admitted to having a loaded 9mm handgun with him in Comstock.

A search warrant was obtained for Jacker’s residence, and a loaded 9mm handgun was found. The live round of ammunition in the handgun matched the spent casing found at the scene of the fight, according to the criminal complaint.

Jacker is charged with Class G Felony 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, Use of a Dangerous Weapon. At a hearing on May 25, 2021, the Court placed Jacker on a $5,000 signature bond. He is scheduled to appear again on May 26, 2021.

At the time of this post, it is not known if criminal charges are to be filed against anyone else involved in the incident.
