Local Author Announces Publication of New Children's Book

WASCOTT -- Northwest Wisconsin author Bruce Henson has announced the release of his second children’s book, “Busy Bees,” a story about honey bees, hard work, and the dangers of laziness.

This is Henson’s first work completely written and illustrated by him. Henson’s first book “Flutter By, Butterfly” was released nearly a year ago.

"I have always had an artistic streak in me,” said Henson. “My whole life I’ve doodled, drawn, or painted as a hobby. After my first book was released, I decided I would attempt the illustration myself after learning a little more about the process. I really enjoyed the work--from developing the initial sketches, working up a storyboard, to editing the finished work--it was thoroughly engrossing how the text and artwork need to mesh to create an effective story.”

A retired U.S. Coast Guard officer, Henson is originally from Minong, Wisconsin, and now resides in Wascott with his wife, Kim.

“Busy Bees” is currently available on Amazon.com or directly from the author at www.BruceHenson.com.
