Jail Ordered For Shell Lake Man On OWI 6th Conviction

WASHBURN COUNTY — The Court has ordered Robin Johnson, of Shell Lake, WI, to serve jail time for his conviction of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 6th Offense.

DrydenWire.com reported in January 2019, that Johnson was facing charges following a traffic stop by the Wisconsin State Patrol on January 5, 2018, at approximately 1:38p for speeding on Highway 253 at Wildlife Road in Washburn County.

Johnson’s case was scheduled for a Jury Trial on December 10, 2019, however, online circuit court records show that at a hearing on December 2, 2019, Johnson entered a plea of Guilty to his charge of OWI 6th offense. Charges of Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device were dismissed but read in.

The Court ordered Johnson to serve 8 months county jail time and 2 years of probation.

Conditions of Johnson’s probation will require him to maintain absolute sobriety as well as undergo an Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment and comply with counseling and treatment.
