Holmen Restaurant Prosperity Is Possible Inflation Relief Event

It was a windy day today in Holmen, WI at Features Restaurant on Saturday. But these were the winds of change as Americans for Prosperity set up shop with a Prosperity is Possible event, greeting customers with a $15 gift card to the restaurant.

Grassroots Engagement Director Tim Jensen had numerous conversations with customers on the crisp late winter morning, including Rich, a retiree who lives in Holmen. Like many retirees, Rich said inflation is hitting him hard in his monthly budget, forcing him and others like him to make tough choices about what they can and can’t afford, thanks to disastrous economic policies of the Biden administration.

As he manned the table outside the restaurant, Jensen spoke with a variety of other customers about their experiences and concerns. There was the 92-year-old veteran who served in the Korean War who thinks that the government should be doing less so that others weren’t dependent on it. Then came Gary Osgood, who retired from Tricor Insurance in West Salem. He says because of inflation, his family lacks the income to do some of the things they normally are accustomed to doing and they chose to eat out less and leave home less often. Though on this day, he was grateful for the chance to get out and grateful for Americans for Prosperity offering just a little break from inflation with the gift card event at the restaurant.

For others like Rachael Gomez who runs a local in-home daycare, groceries have become a source of strife. She said that filling up her grocery cart used to cost about $200, and now costs her over $350. She buys a half a cow from a local farm, so these prices don’t even include beef.

This week Americans for Prosperity launched bidenomics.com to show Americans how bad the Biden administration’s economic policies are hurting us from the grocery store to the gas pump.

While collecting stories and handing out inflation relief, Jensen was able to connect with many people, sharing the work Americans for Prosperity is doing to not only provide inflation relief with our Prosperity is Possible events, but to show our friends and neighbors there is a better way.
