This year Hayward Area Memorial Hospital & Water’s Edge will host their Community Picnic on Saturday, September 7th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on their campus.
“Last year we hosted a picnic in honor of the hospital’s 65th Anniversary. Over 500 people joined us in the celebration,” says Cherie Morgan, Marketing & Communications Director. “The response to the picnic’s return was so positive that we decided to continue the tradition. The picnic is a great opportunity to celebrate all we have to offer and thank the community for their support.”
The picnic is free, open to the public and will include complimentary picnic food including burgers, hot dogs and brats contributed by Lynn’s Custom Meats and Catering, kid’s games provided by Northwest Connection Family Resources, DJ Dalton and cake, ice cream, coffee and novelties sponsored by Marketplace Foods. The Hayward Lions and Hayward Rotary will help set-up, cook and serve food.
There will be informational displays at the picnic and attendees will have the opportunity to talk to healthcare professionals about a variety of services. The picnic is alcohol free and provides a safe and fun atmosphere for people of all ages.
“This year we are also excited to partner with the American Birkebeiner to bring the Dive for the Dirt Obstacle Course to our campus,” says Morgan. “We have partnered with the Birkie to sponsor three Dive for the Events each year. We are excited that one of the opportunities for kids to enjoy the obstacle course will be at the Community Picnic.“
The organization’s Community Trail Blazers Team is working hard to create a fun day to thank everyone for their support in maintaining our local healthcare services.
“We are honored to partner with local businesses and organizations who support our efforts to celebrate the community,” says Morgan. “We look forward to bringing together our staff, volunteers, the community and those who live with us at Water’s Edge to enjoy a food, fun and festivities.”
