GRANTSBURG, WI — On Monday, Granstsburg Police Chief Mitch Olson issued the following updated press release involving the name and condition of the driver of the dump truck involved in the crash that occurred last week in the Village of Grantsburg.

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at approximately 3:35 PM, Burnett County Dispatch was notified of a one-vehicle rollover at the intersection of State Road 70 and State Road 48/87 (South Pine St) in the Village of Grantsburg, Burnett County WI.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Richard F. Johnson of Danbury, WI.
On Saturday, August 26, 2023, the Grantsburg Police Department was contacted by the Medical Examiner’s Office and was informed Mr. Johnson had died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
