SAWYER COUNTY - A motorcycle crash in Sawyer County on Friday, September 27, 2024, resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man from East Troy, Wisconsin, according to a press release from the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 27, 2024, Sawyer County Deputies assisted by the City of Hayward Police Department, Sawyer County EMS, the City and Town of Hayward Fire Departments and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a report of a motorcyle crash on Phipps Road east of the intersection of Gouch Circle Road in the Town of Lenroot.
Upon arrival Deputies learned that a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcyle operated by Brad G. Burdette, 56, of East Troy, WI, was traveling west on Phipps Road.
Evidence at the scene indicates the motorcycle left the roadway, entered the north ditch of the westbound lane and traveled several hundred feet before coming to rest on its side.
Burdette, the lone occupant on the motorcycle was ejected, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Sawyer County Medical Examiner’s Office.
