A two-vehicle collision in Bayfield County has resulted in the death of one person, according to a press release from the Bayfield County Sheriff's Office.
(Press Release) -- On 6-22-18 at about 2:40 P.M. the Bayfield County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle collision on STH 13 at Wedal Road, Town of Barksdale.
Preliminary Investigations revealed a pickup truck traveling northbound collided into a passenger car traveling southbound on STH 13. Both drivers received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by Washburn EMS to a nearby hospital. An occupant in the passenger car died at the scene.
Traffic on STH 13 was rerouted until after 9:00 P.M. as the scene was investigated. The highway is back open again.
Due to family notifications, names will be withheld but are expected to be released later this week.
Agencies responding to the scene included; Bayfield Co. Sheriff’s Office, City of Washburn Police Department, City of Washburn Ambulance, City of Washburn Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Bayfield County Highway Department.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office.
