BURNETT COUNTY -- A single-vehicle crash in Burnett County has left three people injured, including one with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The WSP says that at 12:18a on Sunday, January 02, 2022, a crash occurred on WIS 35 SB at Highway 35 and Godfrey Lake Road in Burnett County near Siren, WI. A WI State Trooper and Burnett County Deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash.
The vehicle was traveling south on Highway 35 and failed to negotiate a curve properly and left the roadway, according to the release. The vehicle was pinned against a tree and the fire department and EMS personnel on the scene had to remove the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The two passengers had non-life-threatening injuries.
The WSP says that speed was a factor and the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Assisting agencies included Burnett County Sheriff’s Department, Siren Fire Department, Webster Fire Department, North Memorial EMS, and St. Croix Tribal Police Department.
