SAWYER COUNTY (DrydenWire) – A routine driving complaint escalated into a foot chase, taser deployment, and multiple felony charges for a Stone Lake man on June 21, 2025.
According to the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department, Marc Lopit, 44, allegedly attempted to flee from officers after being found behind the wheel of a vehicle in Sawyer County.
The situation reportedly turned chaotic when Lopit released his dog multiple times, refused sobriety tests, fled into the woods, and later caused a disturbance at the Sawyer County jail.
