WASHBURN COUNTY -- At a hearing on April 16, 2021, the Court sentenced Noah Clark, of Sarona, WI, on multiple charges including felony child abuse - intentionally cause harm. Clark was found guilty of these charges by a jury in January 2021.
A criminal complaint was filed in May 2019 against Noah Clark, of Sarona, WI, following law enforcement’s investigation into a report that Clark, age 48, had physically assaulted a juvenile male.
On May 7, 2019, Washburn County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Sarona, WI. According to the complaint filed against Clark, witnesses told Deputies that Clark was throwing items around the residence, including a vacuum cleaner. Clark ultimately attacked the male juvenile while the juvenile was sitting on a couch, punching him and kneeing him in the face and then smashing beer cans against the juvenile’s head. Deputies could clearly see marks left on the juvenile from the incident.
Clark had left the residence following the incident, but the Deputies located him later that same night at another residence and took him into custody.
Charges were filed against Clark including Class H Felony Strangulation & Suffocation; Class H Felony Bail Jumping; Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct; and Class H Felony Child Abuse - Intentionally Cause Harm.
A Jury Trial was held in Washburn County on January 28, 2021, regarding the charges against Clark. After hearing testimony from witnesses, including multiple Deputies and the juvenile victim, the jury returned with verdicts of Guilty on Clark’s charges of Class H Felony Bail Jumping; Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct; and Class H Felony Child Abuse - Intentionally Cause Harm. The Jury found Clark Not Guilty of Class H Felony Strangulation & Suffocation.
At the sentencing hearing on April 16, 2021, the Court ordered a 6-year sentence for Clark; 3 years of initial confinement in State Prison to be followed by 3 years of extended supervision on each of Clark’s felony convictions. The sentences are to be served concurrently along with 90 days confinement for the misdemeanor conviction of disorderly conduct. Clark received credit for 85 days already served in confinement.
Conditions on extended supervision will require Clark to maintain absolute sobriety and complete treatment, counseling, and therapy. He will also be prohibited from having contact with the juvenile victim.
Online circuit court records show that Clark still faces criminal charges filed against him in four additional Washburn County Circuit Court cases including 4 charges of Class H Felony Battery or Threat to Law Enforcement Officer; Class I Felony Fail/Comply-Officer/Person into Custody; 10 charges of Class H Felony Bail Jump; Misdemeanor Battery; and Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. At the time of this post, the next hearing date regarding Clark’s remaining charges was not listed in online court records.
