BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) – The Court has sentenced Darryl Hanson, age 72, of Danbury, WI, on convictions from an officer-involved shooting that occurred on July 2, 2022, in Burnett County.

The Officer’s actions during the incident were found to be reasonable, and Burnett County District Attorney Rennicke commended their “bravery and steadfast devotion to service to the community” in a letter he issued on July 22, 2022.

Hanson received over a dozen criminal charges, including Felony Recklessly Endangering Safety, Intentionally Point Firearm at a Law Enforcement Officer, Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated, and Endanger Safety/Use/Dangerous Weapon.

In March 2024, DrydenWire published an update regarding Hanson’s entry of Not Guilty to his charges, after the Court found probable cause to bind him over for trial.
