LAKE HALLIE, WI -- A 20-year-old male from Chippewa Falls, WI, attempted to take his own life on a highway overpass, according to a news release from the Lake Hallie Police Department.

On Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at about 3:55pm, Lake Hallie Officers and the Chippewa Fire District were dispatched to Highway 124 North at Highway 29 East in the Village of Lake Hallie WI for a report of an apparent (attempted) suicide. Officers arrived on scene and determined that a male subject had jumped from the Highway 29 overpass onto Highway 124 and was severely injured.
The investigation determined that a (20-year-old) male from Chippewa Falls had intentionally jumped off the Highway 29 overpass onto Highway 124.
He told a witness that he huffed aerosol prior to jumping and had become upset.
He was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation and treatment.
