Case Dismissed For Man Facing Charges Of Sexual Assault

SAWYER COUNTY -- A case charging Hayward, WI man Nathan Conover with sexual assault has been dismissed.

DrydenWire previously published a post regarding criminal charges that had been filed in Sawyer County Circuit Court against Conover. The criminal complaint alleged that Conover had sexually assaulted an intoxicated adult female.

Online circuit court records show that Conover appeared for a court hearing on September 13, 2021. The State made a motion to dismiss the case without prejudice and release bond for the case.

After finding that Victim Rights legislation had been complied with, the Court dismissed the case.

Details as to the reason for the State’s Motion to Dismiss were not listed in online court records.

Conover is scheduled to appear again in November 2021 regarding charges of Class I Felony Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense); and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia that are filed against him in a separate Sawyer County Circuit Court case.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
