The Cable Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce that J.D Lind has been hired as their new Executive Director. Lind will officially take over the role June 3rd.
Chad Young, Board President says the organization is excited to have Lind at the helm. “J.D brings a wealth of experience and a love for the Cable Area and we feel fortunate to have him working for us”.
Lind is happy to get back to his roots in Northern Wisconsin. He was born and raised in Bayfield. His father was the principle of the high school there for 35 years. Lind studied marketing in college and eventually became a teacher before feeling called to go into law enforcement. Lind joined the Wisconsin State Patrol in 1994 and quickly made his way up the ranks. When Governor Scott Walker appointed him as Superintendent in 2017, Lind became the only Superintendent to have held every rank within the organization. Lind says it was always his plan to move back to Northern Wisconsin and in 2016 he and his wife, Michele, bought a place just outside of Drummond. Lind retired from the State Patrol in October of 2018 and the couple moved north.
When the Cable Area Chamber Director position became available Lind was excited for the opportunity to put his marketing skills to work. “My wife, Michele, and I are so happy to be living in northern Wisconsin”, says Lind. “I am honored to have been selected by the Cable Area Chamber of Commerce to serve as the next Chamber Director. I look forward to the challenges of this new chapter in my life”.
