Brittany Kinser To Join Ben Dryden On Drydenwire Live Friday Morning

SPOONER, WI -- Northwest Wisconsin’s leading online news source, DrydenWire.com, is set to host Brittany Kinser as a special guest on DrydenWire Live this Friday morning, February 14, 2025. The show, hosted by DrydenWire founder Ben Dryden, will begin at 8:30 a.m. on DrydenWire’s Facebook page.

Kinser is one of three candidates vying to become Wisconsin’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction, a race that will see its field narrowed in just one week as the February 18 primary election approaches. She is running against incumbent State Superintendent Jill Underly and Sauk Prairie School District Superintendent Jeff Wright. The top two vote-getters in the primary will advance to the April Spring Election in what is officially a non-partisan race.

These long-form, conversation-style interviews on DrydenWire Live offer viewers an opportunity to get to know the candidate beyond just their political stances. If you're unable to watch live, the recorded episode will be available later in the day on DrydenWire’s YouTube channel and website.

Tune in Friday morning for an insightful discussion as Brittany Kinser shares her background, vision, and priorities in the race for Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction.

Brittany Kinser, Educational Leader

DPI recently lowered academic standards for Wisconsin students, but Brittany Kinser has championed high standards for students and families throughout her career as an education leader. She has taught both special education and science in public schools. When she was an innovative principal at a public elementary school, then-State Superintendent Tony Evers honored her with the “Beating the Odds” award. She has held leadership positions in both local and national education organizations. Most recently, she was the co-founder of a high-impact literacy initiative addressing the reading crisis by providing direct instruction to students and strategic support to school leaders to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn to read skillfully. With advanced degrees in education and a passion for expanding opportunities, Brittany is dedicated to creating transformative change for students and schools. Brittany is the only candidate for DPI Superintendent who supports school choice for Wisconsin families.

In the last year, Brittany co-founded 95 Wisconsin, an initiative rooted in her steadfast belief that with high-quality, evidence-based instruction, 95% of Wisconsin children can achieve reading proficiency. She wants Wisconsin to be the first state in the nation to turn this potential into reality.

Brittany’s dedication to creating transformative educational opportunities is matched by her academic credentials. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College, a master’s degree in Designing Science Curriculum from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University.

In her free time, she loves biking through Wisconsin's scenic country roads, trail running, reading great books, and traveling across the U.S. to hike and visit with friends.
