DOUGLAS COUNTY -- The body of a missing Douglas County man has been recovered, according to a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
(Press Release) -- The body of a missing Superior man was recovered from the Middle River Sunday afternoon about a mile south from the mouth at Lake Superior.
Anthony Puckett, Sr. was last seen Saturday April 20, 2019 at a residence near Hwy 13 and the Middle River. He was reported as a missing person to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office late Monday April 22.
An extensive ground, air and water search ensued over the next several days. Puckett's body was located at approx. 4:15pm April 28th by members of the Lakeside VFD who were kayaking on the river searching the banks after water levels had receded. The location was about two miles downstream from the area he was last seen.
The incident remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office.
Agencies participating in the search include the St. Louis County Sheriff's Rescue Squad, WI DNR, and volunteers the town of Lakeside, Maple, Poplar, Lake Nebagamon, and other towns' volunteer Fire Departments.

DOUGLAS COUNTY -- Authorities are searching for a Douglas County man who has been missing since this past weekend, according to a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
(Press Release) -- A search is currently underway for a 40 year old Superior man. Anthony Puckett, Sr. was last seen Saturday evening April 20th walking away from a residence in the town of Lakeside. He has not been seen or heard from since.
He was reported missing Monday evening at 8:45pm. A ground search of the immediate area is currently underway by members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and volunteers from the Lakeside and surrounding communities' Fire Departments.
Anthony Puckett is described as 40 years old, 6'1, 170lbs, Blue eyes and Blond hair. He was last seen wearing light bluejeans and a light colored short sleeve t-shirt.
