POLK COUNTY -- The body of a 20-year-old man was recovered this morning after an apparent drowning in the St. Croix River, according to a news release from the St. Croix Falls Police Department.
(News Release) -- Just after 7:00 a.m., on June 09, 2018, the St. Croix Falls Police Department responded to the area of the Lions Park in St. Croix Falls, WI after a witness reported hearing calls for help coming from the St. Croix River.
At 10:13 a.m. emergency responders recovered the body of a 20 year old St. Croix Falls, WI man from the St. Croix River. He was located approximately 20 to 30 feet from shore in about 8 feet of water. At this time the investigation shows this incident to be an accidental drowning.
