Barron County Highway Commissioner Attends White House Event With President Trump

Press Release

Barron County Highway Commissioner Mark Servi attended a White House address where President Donald J. Trump highlighted the numerous regulatory actions taken, including those aimed at expediting infrastructure projects at an event entitled Rollback of Regulations Helping All Americans.

“We applaud the Administration’s continued efforts to enable local infrastructure projects to be undertaken in an expedient yet responsible manner”, said Servi. “In these economically distressed times, every infrastructure dollar must be stretched to maximize its use towards safe transportation infrastructure to assist in our national and local economy’s recovery from a historic public health crisis.”

“Regulation reductions have shown to be effective in both the time line for construction projects as well as showing a cost benefit. Barron County had four bridge projects in the past year in the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Pilot Bridge Program that resulted in accelerated timelines and a price that was 18% less than the Engineers Estimate of Construction costs. These projects all met environmental requirements in a substantially shortened timeframe”, Servi said.

Servi has served as the Barron County Highway Commissioner since 2008. He is a twice-elected President of the Wisconsin County Highway Association (2006-2008, 2018-2020), is currently serving on the National Association of County Engineers (NACE) Board of Directors, as well NACE President in 2013-2014. He has also serves on the Transportation Steering Committee of the National Association of Counties.
