Emergency Services of Barron County has issued the following Sit (situation) Rep (report) regarding yesterday's wind storm in Chetek, Wisconsin.

At approximately 1700 hrs on June 17 2018, a severe thunderstorm moved through the southern portion of Barron County, resulting in the 911 Center receiving multiple calls reporting trees and power lines down in the Chetek area. Initial size-up indicated 20-25 properties with power lines down, trees on houses, gas leaks, and roads blocked. Chetek Fire Department and Chetek Ambulance were dispatched, in addition to mutual aid from New Auburn Fire Department and Cameron Fire Department. Unified Command was established at the Chetek Fire Hall between Fire Chief Ryan Olson, Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, Emergency Services Director Mike Judy, and Police Chief Ron Ambrozaitis.
During the storm, an adult female was struck in the head by a falling tree branch. The female was conscious and alert, and was transported to Barron Hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported throughout the storm.
Responders worked for over 3 hrs to clear roads, protect power lines, and check on area residents.
