Authorities Release Name Of Victim Who Died In Fatal Polk County Crash

POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - In a recent update from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the name of the deceased driver involved in the recent tragic crash on State Highway 65 has been released.

Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak states that the deceased is identified as Brody Shipe, 21, from New Richmond, Wisconsin.

POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - On Thursday, November 30, 2023, tragedy struck when the Polk County Emergency Call Center received a distressing 911 call at 10:43p.

An iPhone automatic crash notification alerted authorities to a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 65 near 20th Avenue in the town of Alden.

Promptly responding to the emergency, law enforcement and first responders were dispatched to the specified location.

Upon reaching the scene on the west side of Hwy 65, responders discovered a pickup truck that had veered off the road, colliding with trees. The impact proved fatal for the driver, who was found deceased at the crash site.

Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak says that at this time, the identity of the driver is being withheld and will be released to the public at a later date.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the Allied Fire Department, Northwestern Municipal Ambulance, and the Polk County Medical Examiner in managing the incident. Their timely assistance played a crucial role in responding to the emergency and addressing the aftermath of the tragic crash.
