POLK COUNTY -- One person is in custody after uthorities in Polk County responded to a report of shooting, according to a press release from the Dresser Police Department.

On January 21, 2022 at approximately 4:30 pm the Dresser Police Department responded to 115 St Hwy 35 S, the Dresser Food and Liquor store, for a report of a shooting. The suspect fled the scene prior to our arrival.
Upon arriving on scene, the lone victim was located. He sustained a single gunshot wound to his leg He was treated at the scene and released.
The suspect in this incident was located approximately 40 minutes later and was taken into custody without incident.
We believe with the suspect in custody there is no further danger to the public.
