POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities have released the name of the person who died in a fatal one-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning, September 17, 2024, in the Town of Georgetown.
According to Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 2:12a. on September 17 about a crash on County Highway E, just north of County Highway G (200th Ave.).
The investigation revealed that a northbound pickup truck, occupied by only the driver, crossed the center line, entered the opposite ditch, and struck a power pole. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities have now released the identity of the deceased as 34-year-old Alicia Paukstat of rural Luck, WI.
Assisting the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with this crash were the Apple River Fire/First Responders and the Polk County Medical Examiner.
The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
