Alcohol Believed to be Factor in Rollover Crash, Police Say

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in a single-vehicle crash early this morning is in Polk County, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

(Press Release) -- On June 27th at approximately 3:24 AM members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Balsam Lake Fire, Garfield Fire, area Ambulances 572 and 573, and the St. Croix Falls Police Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on State Highway 65 just South of US Highway 8.  

There was one occupant in the vehicle; A 37 year old male from the Amery area.  The injured party was taken by ambulance to the Osceola Medical Center to then be flown to a medical facility in the Twin Cities Metro Area.

It is believed that high speeds and alcohol contributed to  this accident.  The Polk County Sheriff’s Department will continue to investigate the incident and would like to thank all responding EMS and Fire personnel that responded.
