Job Opportunities Abound in the Region: Ashland & Bayfield County Job Fair on October 27th features more than 20 Businesses; Job seekers at all skill levels encouraged to attend

The Ashland and Bayfield County Job Fair will be held 2-5 PM on Thursday, October 27th, at The Bretting Community Center, 400 4th Ave West, Ashland. More than 20 employers from across the region will feature a wide mix of available positions including office, service, manufacturing, healthcare, and other professional positions. In just three hours, job seekers can meet with 23 of the region’s employer representatives as well as community and education resources.

“Any and all job seekers are welcome to attend the job fair,” said Scott Schultz, Director of Industry and Innovation for the Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board. “There will be a variety of positions job seekers can get application information for. Everything from entry level or more skilled, seasonal, temporary, full, and part-time.”

All job seekers regardless of age, education and work experience are welcome. There is no dress code for the event, but job seekers are encouraged to dress for the role they are seeking and are urged to bring a current resume. Some employers will be accepting resumes to schedule interviews at a later date and others may do interviews on site.

“Bring copies of your resume to share with employers. The job fair will run for 3 hours to allow job seekers to connect with as many employers as possible,” said Schultz. “If any job seeker is unsure about how to approach a business, all they need to do is say, ‘tell me a bit more about your positions’ and the employer will more than likely take it from there. Employers want you and are going to be extremely flexible in finding you a role.”

Questions about the job fair or how to register a business should be directed to Scott Schultz at sschultz@nwwib.com or 715-201-8493. The job fair is a collaborative effort sponsored by the Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board, Workforce Resource, Job Center of Wisconsin, Northwest Wisconsin CEP, Ashland County, and Bayfield County.
