Annual Shell Lake 4th Of July Boat Parade Is On!

What is the perfect activity to participate in during a pandemic, that accomplishes many of the published safety objectives:

  • Outside activity
  • With members of your immediate household (and maybe a few carefully vetted guests)
  • Separated from other families by way more than 6 feet
  • With a virtual community
  • In the sunshine
  • Probably with food, beverages or both
  • On the beautiful water of Shell Lake Wisconsin !

Join us for the (we lost count how many) Annual Shell Lake Boat Parade, either as a participating water vessel or along the shore cheering on the parade. Decorating your vessel with red white and blue is highly recommended and encouraged. Gathering place at Rolphs Point at 11:50 am on July 4th. The parade launches precisely at noon. We'll follow the shore line on the north side of Rolphs Point, the east side of the main lake, ending on the northwest side of the main lake.

Side note: there are usually some boats and parade watchers that choose to participate in water battles along the route (water balloons, water cannons). If you are in the parade and you do NOT wish to be a target or participant, we recommend that you not steer your boat within striking distance of docks.

In case of really nasty weather (lightning in the immediate area), the parade will be postponed for 30 minutes. If the storm has not cleared by then, the parade will unfortunately be canceled. Over the past 30+ years, we have only canceled once.

If you have any questions, please contact Tom Frischmann at 507-358-1537. Hope to see you there!
