BARRON COUNTY -- Thursday April 21st, Barron County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC) held its 25th Annual Business Awards Banquet at Das Lach Haus in Cumberland.
The first guest speaker was James Schmidt, Chancellor UW-Eau Claire who shared the successes of the Barron County Campus and his vision for transforming it to greater serve our community.
The last speaker was Scott Hodek, Economist/Section Chief-Office of Economic Advisers, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Mr Hodek shared real time statistics on the economy as well as a thorough discussion on workforce and population trends.
BCEDC Executive Director Dave Armstrong shared successes of its business consulting program and current efforts in the areas of workforce, housing and childcare. He also highlighted immigration successes to address workforce shortages.
