BARRON COUNTY — Alcohol was a contributing factor in a UTV crash on Sunday in Barron County that left two injured, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 9, 2022, at 6:02 p.m., the Barron County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a UTV crash that had occurred in the Village of Prairie Farm and the UTV operator was attempting to load an unconscious male back into a UTV but was stopped by citizens at the scene.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Dallas Ambulance, Mayo Barron Ambulance, Clear Lake Ambulance, Prairie Farm Fire Department, Life Link III Helicopter, and the Wisconsin DNR responded to the scene.
The involved UTV was spotted near the crash scene by responding deputies and a short pursuit ensued ending at a nearby residence.
The UTV operator was identified as Daniel Anson, 35 of Prairie Farm, and was initially taken into custody but was eventually flown by air ambulance to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash.
The other involved male was identified as Gerry Beach, 61 of Prairie Farm. He was transported to Barron Hospital where he was eventually flown by air ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul MN for unknown injuries sustained in the crash.
Alcohol is a contributing factor to this crash and remains under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.
