RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A criminal case has been filed in Rusk County Circuit Court charging a 20-year-old New York man, Michael Arnold, with multiple crimes including possession of child pornography.
Arnold allegedly admitted to traveling to Wisconsin via Michigan after meeting a juvenile female through the social media platform, Snapchat, with the intention of “rescuing” the juvenile and leaving the state with her.
Arnold allegedly stated to law enforcement that although an adult advised him the juvenile was underage, he has “had parents lie about their kid’s age before."
The Court ordered a $25,000 cash bond for Arnold, and online jail records indicate that as of July 17, 2024, Arnold is in the custody of the Rusk County Jail.
The criminal complaint states that Rusk County law enforcement was referring a report to Sawyer County for an investigation into allegations of sexual assault of a child.
