POLK COUNTY -- The Polk County Land & Water Resources Department held its 2025 Conservation Poster Contest on January 16th, 2025. The theme this year was “Home is Where the Habitat is”. There was excellent participation with several youth from 4-H’s and schools competing at every grade level.
The first-place winners in each age class received $15.00, second place received $10.00, and third place received $5.00. All students with a poster entry received a participation certificate.
K-1st grade; First place went to Audra Belisle (South Milltown 4-H), second place went to Juniper Erickson (South Milltown 4-H), and third place went to Andy Osumi (Luck): 2-3rd grade; First place went to Arianna Lee (Amery), second place went to Lilly Osumi (Luck): 4-6th grade; First place went to Jasper Erickson (South Milltown 4-H), second place went to Brantley Berget (Amery): 7-9th grade; First place went to Sawyer Tiedemann (Unity) and 10-12th grade; First place went to Natasha Tait (Unity), second place went to Lucie Nielsen (Unity), third place went to Christine Bertsch (Unity), and also participating was Connor Beaudry (Unity) and Markus Majeski (Unity).
First place winners of our county contest went on to compete in the Northwest Area Contest which was held on January 24th. Audra Belisle and Arianna Lee placed 3rd in their category. Congratulations to all 2025 conservation poster contest participants.
