WASHBURN COUNTY -- A semi unit was struck by a train in Washburn County, according to a press release from the Wisconsin DOT.
(Press Release) -- On 6/11/18 at approximately 2:14 PM the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a report of a train versus semi crash near County Highway M in Stanberry. Responding officers located the crash scene on Stanberry Road at the Canadian National Railroad tracks.
The semi unit, which is owned by Jeff Foster Trucking Inc. of Superior, WI, was hauling used railroad ties. As the semi unit traveled westbound over the railroad tracks a southbound Canadian National locomotive struck the rear of the semitrailer. The force of the collision overturned the semi unit into the opposite side of the roadway. No injuries from either vehicle were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
